Review: Lorac Pro Palatte - Swatches and Photos
I think the eyeshadow Gods have finally got it right with this one! It’s like my beloved Urban Decay Naked 1, with a pinch of color and added glam. Seriously, after lusting over this palette for years, I now understand why this is the favorite go-to palette of the “Pros”. Kim Kardashian’s makeup bestie and talented makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic frequently uses this palette to create many of her amazing every day and red carpet looks. Hey- if it’s good enough for Mario, it’s good enough for me!
The packing is modeled after a sleek and minimalist design. The palette itself is covered in a smooth rubbery material (similar to that of NARS). It contains sixteen (16) eye-shadows in total, of which half are matte and the other half are shimmery. Each shadow amounts to a total of 0.02 oz. It also contains miniature eye-shadow primer (0.19 oz).
The shadows themselves are impeccable quality. Both the matte and shimmery finishes have a wonderfully smooth texture which makes for easy blending. This ease of application allows for any regular makeup lover to achieve a high definition, professional finish to any look- anyone can be a “Pro”! They are also intensely pigmented, so a light hand is recommended for more subtle looks. The shadows are also definitely buildable.
What differentiates this palette for me is the color selection. Like many others on the market, this palette features an array of neutral shades suited to any skin tone. What is unique though, are the brilliant pops of rich colors and bolder shades. These gorgeous accent shades are just the right tone to compliment the neutral hues, which takes the guess work out of figuring out the right combination of shades to create your desired look! It is therefore perfect for travel, special events or just your every day affairs!
Overall, I love that the LORAC PRO Palette was designed by celebrity makeup artist Carol Shaw, who, in my opinion, specifically kept in mind that it would be used not only by professionals, but everyday gals like me! I find myself reaching for this palette on an everyday basis, and have begun to experiment a lot more with my day to day looks. It has definitely awakened my dormant MUA spirit and I tip my hat to that!
