Review: The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer, Swatches & Photos

I confess that I am obsessed with highlighters. Adding a glow to my complexion is the one step I NEVER skip in my everyday makeup routine. To me, using the right highlighter emphasizes the cheekbones and can bring your makeup to life with a glowing three-dimensional look. The Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer is by far THE BEST highlighter I have ever used. It has an effect unlike any other, including my beloved Soft and Gentle by MAC.

Firstly, it is intense! This product offers great pigmentation, in a smooth buttery texture that glides on to the skin and melts into the complexion. Despite its intense cooler pay off, the product itself is not overly shimmery. The shimmer particles are in fact so finely milled that once applied it fades into a glowing sheen.

What is best is that this shade is ultra-flattering on any skin-stone, from light to dark with warm, cool or neutral undertones. It is a soft champagne color with shimmering gold undertones.

Because of the intense pigmentation, I suggest using a fan brush to apply as little product as possible, and build up as required.

The product is also extremely versatile and can be used as an eyeshadow or as an overall body shimmer. I love applying this to my inner tear duct using a small pencil brush to really open up the eyes and enhance my look.

The metal pan contains 8.5 grams of product or 0.3oz which is more than you can ever finish in a lifetime!

Have fun experimenting with your glow, and always remember that even the most perfect face of makeup is never complete without a smile. This amazing highlighter can be obtained by e-mailing me at
